New York Live: Style Spotlight with The Wardrobe Therapist

Here, in New York City, we’ve been home for four months. Never in my wildest nightmares, could I, an extrovert/ people loving/ shopaholic/ Wardrobe Therapist have imagined such a thing. And don’t get me wrong, I love my family but quarantine with toddlers takes this experience to a whole new level. Needless to say, I had to find a way to stay sane and connected. I met, the beautiful Joelle Gargiulo on Insta and we teamed up to bring this segment on NBC’s New York Live! Thanks hon, so much fun.

In this segment Joelle challenged me to style 3 staple items that every woman has in her closet, 3 different ways. That’s a total of 9 looks. Check it out! Details on my looks are below. Enjoy!

Scarf

You probably haven’t brought any of your nice scarves out to play in a while but with outdoor dining now available and Zoom meetings still in tact, we can have them work double duty as a face covering, head piece and more.

As a mom, no matter how hard I try, my kids get food on me daily. The worst timing is right before my virtual conference calls. If you’re in the same boat, drape your scarf stylishly to cover the stain and look chic. If you just don’t feel like dressing up, wear a plain tee/blouse and elevate your look by rolling it up and tying it around your neck. Last but not least, make your hair look pulled together by using the rolled up scarf as an accessory to hide the struggle. Haha!

You can use all three of these tips when you get to the restaurant and have to take the scarf off of your face to eat.

Jeans

Joelle made a great point, try on your jeans, right now because that “Quarantine-15” is real. You saw how my (used to be) mom jeans fit in my TikTok video. They are much more fitted now and that’s okay. Here were my 3 looks and where you can find the exact or similar tops.

White button down

Okay, so I need you to dust off that white button down in the back of your closet. You were probably going to anyway. You might have some interviews lined up for a new position and that’s a safe, professional option.

Unfortunately, we tend to categorize our white button downs solely under professional. Have you ever considered using you shirt for social events. In my second look, I wore it under a silk dress. The third look is my favorite. I created an all white look using a pair of lace pants and accenting my overall look with gold accessories.
